We chose to present this solve not because we expect it to be a rare pareto point, but because it is far and away the best Sum3 entry on our frontier. And a 1P version would completely crush for Sum4.

We also just like the aesthetics.

The solves of ours that we expect to be rarest are the two-arm tringle track at 85G, which earns a place on our frontier by a paltry 2c over the 80g you see here, and our 150g entry, which relies on an entirely unintuitive double-duty hexarm to match a 37-cycle benchmark we expect to see much more frequently at 160g. Heck, we made that selfsame 160-37 solve ourselves on several occasions while mining for more frontier points.

In our view, this puzzle frontier has quite a bit in common with Precision Machine Oil and Stamina Potion CG. To wit:

--All three puzzles require pulling 5 inputs per output.

--All three puzzles require metal promotion.

--All three puzzles have a min C of 27. PMO and SP achieve this at 185g; we have done so with this puzzle this at 180g.

--All three puzzles have a naive theory min G of 50, although SP and PMO cannot practically achieve that because of access overload.

--SP and PMO both have 60G pareto points between 191c and 195c. The same 60g strategy with this puzzle clocks in at 191c in our frontier.

Based on these similarities, and by comparison to those CG paretos, we expect that our frontier is quite well-executed at the extremes. But we expect to have dropped the ball a bit in the middle. It is true that Purification becomes necessary at the top end, and that glyph is expensive because of access requirements, but there is plenty of Projection-only space from 90g to 150g that we think looks like it should be faster than we have managed.

Still, we are proud to have found 13 distinct pareto points. Looking forward to seeing the TRUE frontier!
